Dear Civic Committee Member:
We look forward to seeing you virtually at the Civic Committee Meeting on Thursday, December 10th. The meeting will begin at 7:30 am and conclude at 9:00 am. As communicated earlier, at the top of the meeting, we are pleased to welcome U.S. Senator Dick Durbin for a 30 minute discussion. Some of the topics we have asked the Senator to discuss with our membership include: an update on the Presidential transition; the potential for a national approach to Covid-19; the prospects for a new stimulus package, infrastructure legislation, or other major legislative initiatives; and his views on the Biden administration’s relationship with business.
At the conclusion of Senator Durbin’s remarks, we will use the remaining hour to discuss the following Civic Committee and affiliate work: 1) Business Diversity Initiative; 2) P33 – A Review of its First Year; and 3) State Finance/Tax Policy.
