Hire Chicago was born out of the Civic Committee’s Public Safety Task Force, recognizing that stable employment is essential to long-term safety, economic growth, and neighborhood vitality. Unemployment varies dramatically across Chicago neighborhoods, and Hire Chicago focuses on connecting employers to talent from 20 communities experiencing the highest rates of joblessness. When employers hire locally and consistently, neighborhoods stabilize, businesses grow, and Chicago becomes a safer, stronger city for everyone.
