Terry Miller

Terry Miller is the Senior Director for Economic Opportunity at the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago, where he leads implementation of the Economic Opportunity Task Force’s strategic plan. His efforts are focused on growing and scaling highly competitive businesses to generate economic growth in the Chicago region.

Terry is a business and legal strategist with extensive experience in structuring and negotiating complex transactions and resolving federal and state regulatory compliance issues. He has worked for over 20 years on complex corporate issues including business diversity, corporate governance, financial regulation, civil rights and effective government. His career includes experience as a Corporate Attorney, Senior Assistant City Attorney, Assistant Attorney General, Professor of Law, Chief of Diversity, Dean of Undergraduate Admissions, and FINRA Senior Enforcement Counsel. He served on the Board of the Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council, and he was listed in Crains Notable Leaders in DEI.

He earned his Juris Doctorate at the DePaul University School of Law, and a Masters in Business Administration at the University Illinois. He is also credentialed in Financial Regulation, Securities Law, Privacy Law, and Cybersecurity Law. Throughout his career, he has argued commercial contracts, employment rights, and civil rights cases in trial and appellate courts throughout the state of Illinois.
